Nestled along Bluebird Avenue in Iowa, our 10-acre homestead is more than just a place—it's the heart of our journey toward a more intentional, self-sufficient life. Just like the bluebirds that inspired our name—symbols of hope, new beginnings, and finding joy in the simple things—we're building something meaningful here, one small step at a time.
Our Story
We're not experts claiming to have it all figured out. We're a family learning as we go, sharing both our successes and (plenty of) failures along the way. Our homesteading adventure began when we decided to trade the conventional path for one with more dirt under our fingernails and more connection to the food on our table.
Some days, our garden thrives. Other days, the chickens escape, the tomatoes get blight, and we wonder what we've gotten ourselves into! But through it all, we're discovering the profound satisfaction that comes from growing our own food, mastering traditional skills, and living more closely with the rhythms of nature.
